"The Unquiet"- a supernatural thriller

After seeing the trailers for a couple of weeks I couldn't wait for the movie "the Unquiet" to be aired on the LMN channel. I love a good thriller/horror movie. Especially those that have supernatural overtones . The storyline was about a young woman who is somewhat skeptical about the supernatural and specializes in debunking  so called psychic happenings. She is hired to  go to a an abandoned woman's prison and either prove or disprove that the long abandoned facility is haunted. Unbeknownst to her and her crew is that her husband and his crew along with a psychic are also there filming a documentary about the prison. He's a believer in the supernatural.

As  ghostly happenings begin to mount the two teams have no option but to join forces to get to the bottom of whats happening and why.  Would the team be able to figure  out if there really are sinister forces in the prison that are bent on destroying them and if so why.

I really enjoyed this movie and recommend it to folks like myself who enjoy a good movie about the supernatural.

Josh Holloway has starring role in horror flick "Whisper"

Yesterday I caught the horror flick  "Whispers" starring heartthrob Josh Holloway. For those of you who don't know who Josh is he plays the role of bad boy Sawyer on ABC's hit series Lost. The movie was about a group of individuals who kidnap the son of a rich socialite and hold him for ransom. This should have been a simple task for a bunch of adults but that wasn't the case. Unbeknown to the kidnappers was the fact that David, the kidnapped child had some very unusual abilities which would result in bodily harm to them.

This movie wasn't that scary and it really wasn't all that original. Quite frankly it was quite predictable. It somewhat resembles some portions of the movie The Omen. You know child has satanic powers and can kill people without even touching them. Definitely a movie for the small screen.

I think Josh Holloway is a fine actor and I only hope that his agents are able to get him some better scripts. His talent and sex appeal are wasted on these low budget films.

TBS filled football void by airing "The Replacements"

TBS last night aired "The Replacements" starring Keanu Reeves, Gene Hackman and a mirad of others. The theme if you haven't already seen the movie is about replacements filling in when the NFL's Washington Sentinels players go on strike. While this movie didn't garner any academy awards it was none the less a great sports movie. It was comedy, action and dare I say it a love story all rolled into one.

Gene Hackman gave an excellent performance as coach Jimmy McGinty who comes out of retirement to pull together a bunch of misfits and turn them into a real team who can finish out the last four games of the season.

Keanu Reeves gave a totally believeable performance as Shane Falco, an ex -Ohio State player who always folded under pressure. Shane who was the quarterback was charged with pulling the guys together as a single team while having to overcome his own problems.

If you haven't yet seen this movie and are into sports then check it out the next time it's on.

Want to pay your bill over the phone and speak with a live person? Comcast charge will be $3.99

Remember the good old days when you could call any company that provided you a service and actually speak to a live live person. You didn't have to keep pressing numbers on the phone and listen to various menus. You just picked up the phone. Dialed the number of  the company you were calling and a real person answered the phone. That person then transferred  you to the correct department where lo and behold another live person answered your call . You were able to conduct your business, end your all without being charged for the service.

Comcast it seems has decided to add their own unique twist  to this age old service for folks who wish to speak with an actual living and breathing human being while paying their bills over the phone.  Should one wish to converse with a real person there will now be a charge of $3.99. This fee will go into effect March 11. Seems pretty ridiculous to charge people for this service especially when the're calling to give Comcast money for their services. Guess Comast is looking to turn a buck any way they can.

Charter to give $50 to customers whose e-mails were deleted. WOW! Can they spare it?

Charter Communications has announced that they will be giving a rebate of $50 to those customers whose e-mail were deleted. Isn't nice that Charter could so readily place a monetary value on those e-mails. Did they even bother to ask the customer what they felt a fair compensation would be.  While the e-mails are of no value to charter that might not be the case with their customers. If it were me personally, I would expect at the least 3 free months of cable service or barring that a $1.00 per deleted E-mail.

With the pay out to e-mail customers totaling almost 3/4 of a million ($700,000.00) you have got to wonder how Charter is going to make up the loss. Perhaps another price increase in the foreseeable future is the answer.
