Comcast hikes cable rates in Washington
A good portion of Comcast cable subscribers in Washington are preparing to pay higher rates for their tv programming effective October 1st. While the rates for cable will increase about 3.7%, the cost for high-speed internet or digital voice services will not, said Comcast's Vice President of Communications Steve Kipp.
Subscribers of limited basic cable, which offers minimal broadcast and government channels will see their monthly bill increase by about 75 cents.
Basic cable subscribers on the other hand, will now be expected to pay $55.75 a month, which translates into a rate hike of $3.50 more per month.
Last but not least, Comcast premium subscribers will also be hit with an average 3.7% rate hike. The final monthly cost for these subscribers will vary depending on the number of channels and the digital package they chose to subscribe to. I am sure there are also other factors which will be used in determining the final monthly cost for these subscribers.
