Police Look For Manslaughter Evidence In Michael Jackson Case

A lawyer for Michael Jackson's doctor says police searched the physician's north Houston clinic looking for evidence of manslaughter.

Dr. Conrad Murray was interviewed by police as a witness to Michael Jackson's death, but was not considered a suspect. Los Angeles police and agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration searched the Armstrong Medical Clinic for about 2 1/2 hours. The search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for items, including documents, they believed to have evidence manslaughter. Agents left with "a forensic image" of a computer hard drive and 21 documents.

 

Sony Pictures Will Acquired Michael Jackson's Rehearsal Footage

Sony Pictures is finalizing the deal to acquire rehearsal footage from Michael Jackson's "This Is It" tour, hoping to release it in time for Halloween.

Sony is will be paying close to $60 million for the 80 hours of rehearsal footage that was shot at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The rehearsal footage is currently owned by AEG Entertainment. AGE was promoting Jackson's run of 50 shows at London's O2 Arena.

Sony plans on having it in theaters on October 30. The film will feature at least three videos, including an alternative version of "Thriller," it was intended to be an interstitial video during Jackson's O2 shows.

Reportedly, Fox, Universal, Paramount and Relativity were also interested in obtaining the rehearsal footage, butit made more sense for Sony since its Music Entertainment division owns the publishing rights to Jackson's songs.

Terms of the deal are still being hammered out, but the Jackson family estate will collect 90 percent of what's left after AEG recoups its costs for the tour. Originally it was reported that AEG was planning on using the footage for a live CD/DVD set to try and  recoup the money they lost after Jackson's death, including $85 million in ticket refunds.

 

Stephen Baldwin files for bankruptcy

Stephen Baldwin, brother of Emmy winner Alec Baldwin who stars in "30 Rock" has filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday, according to a court document that says he is millions in debt.

The 43 year old actor filed for Chapter 11 protection saying he owes more than $2.3 million. Stephen Baldwin own's a New York property valued at only $1.1 million. Court papers showed he owes about $1.2 million on two mortgages and more than $1 million in taxes. He also has credit card debt.

 

Jackass Star Bam Margera Rushed to Hospital

Bam Margera the star of MTV's "Jackass" was rushed to the hospital yesterday after paramedics responded to a 911 call for a "possible overdose."

Bam Margera who said he was rushed to the hospital after a four day drinking binge not because of a drug overdose. The "Jackass" star went on the four day drinking binge because of marital problems, saying "I may get a divorce ... booze helps."

Bam's mother said Bam's wife Missy called 911 because she was worried about him after learning that he took an Ambien during the drinking bender.

Ban Margera says his kidney and leg muscles were a mess from not eating or drinking water. The hospital flushed out his system, he was then released after speaking to a psychiatrist.

Beastie Boys, Adam Yauch Diagnosed With Cancer

Founding member of rap group the Beastie Boys, Adam "MCA" Yauch, said on Monday he has a cancerous tumor in his salivary gland, forcing the Beastie Boys to cancell all of the band's upcoming concerts.

Adam Yauch said in an online video that the cancer is "very treatable in most cases," and it is localized in his neck and not affecting his vocal chords. I apologize to everybody, for anyone who's made plans or was psyched to come to these shows that are coming up,"

As a result of the cancer, the Beastie Boys are going to push back the release of their new album "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1." The album had was set for release on September 15, The tour that would have supported the new album has also been pushed back. No new dates have been announced.

Adam Yauch said he felt a lump in his throat two months ago and he recently checked with a doctor and was diagnosed with the cancerous growth in his left salivary gland.Yauch added that he will have surgery next week, and then follow that with radiation.

 

DISH Network Will Pay Consumers $5.9 Million in Settlement

In 2006, an investigation went into DISH Network's sales practices after hundreds of complaints from upset consumers. Now DISH Network has agreed to pay $5.9 million to 46 states in a settlement announced yesterday.

 It seems that customers have had a lot of problems with the behavior of DISH Network over the years.The states have said that DISH Network refused to accept responsibility for misconduct by its third-party retailers and installers. They violated do not call rules. Also they have failed to disclose all terms and conditions of contract, they charged customers credit cards and bank accounts but did not provid a notice. DISH denied any wrongdoing.

If you filed a complaint with DISH Network since January 1st, 2004 and is still not resolved then you may be eligible for a payout. The complaint must be in writting and mailed to DISH Network.

States Not included in settlement:

California, North Carolina, Illinois, Ohio

 

Michael Jackson Has #1 Album Three Weeks In A Row

Fans who just wanted to hear his music again have pushed his albums up the charts, including "Thriller" and "Number Ones" his greatest hits collection. Last week, his albums have sold 1.1 million copies, according to sales figures from SoundScan.That is a 37% spike from the week before.

Jackson's "Number Ones" has been the top selling album in the United States for the third week in a row, with 349,000 copies sold.

 

Blogger Is Sentenced For The Guns N' Roses Album Leak

Kevin Cogill a blogger from Los Angeles who leaked the new Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" on the Internet before the official release date, was sentenced to two months of home confinement on Tuesday.He pleaded guilty in December to one misdemeanor count of violating federal copyright laws. He has agreed to help the authorities identify the original source of the leak.

Cogill also received one year's probation and will appear in an anti-piracy commercial. This is  under the terms of his plea deal with federal prosecutors.Cogill posted nine tracks from the Guns N' Roses album five months before the CD came out in November. The tracks were circulated, which diminished the anticipation surrounding the album, "Chinese Democracy" became a disappointing seller.

Cogill was facing a one year federal prison term, and a $100,000 fine with  five years of probation.U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul L. Abrams said "there was no profit motive, and the tracks were posted on the blog for a short period.

 

MTV Brings Back America's Best Dance Crew For A Season 4

America's Best Dance Crew, also known as ABDC, is a show on MTV featuring street dance crews from all over the United States. The show is produced by American Idol judge Randy Jackson. The show is hosted by Mario Lopez and Layla Kayleigh as a backstage correspondent. The judges consist of rapper, Lil Mama,  N*SYNC member JC Chasez, and choreographer Shane Sparks.

After alot of speculation that the show had been cancelled , Judge JC Chasez has confirmed that season 4 auditions are set to begin on June 6,. MTV aired a trailer for the fourth season. It is set to beginning on Sunday August 9, 2009 at 9pm ET/PT.
